    West40 serves 38 school districts and three co-ops in West Cook County. West40 provides a wide range of in-school advocacy,  student-centered programs and links to community resources to help students and the people surrounding them succeed.

  • Will-Grundy Transition Planning Committee

    The Will-Grundy Transition Planning Committee strives to connect families to community-based services and providers for students and adults with disabilities. Made up of schools, agencies and not-for-profit organizations, the group is working together to improve vocational transition from education to jobs for all learners but particularly for individuals with disabilities.

    The Will-Grundy Transition Planning Committee provides:

    • Educational events
    • A resource directory covering Will, Grundy and Kendall counties
    • Recorded videos on a variety of topics
    • Information about community resources and service providers grouped by type (advocacy, assistive technology, etc.)
  • Wrightslaw Special Education Law and Advocacy

    Wrightslaw provides resources, an A to Z Topic Library and information for parents, educators, advocates and attorneys on special education law, education law, and advocacy for children with disabilities.

  • YWCA La Voz Latina

    YWCA La Voz Latina‘s services include:

    • Information and referral services
    • One-on-one parenting classes and adult education workshops
    • Advocacy for at-risk families
    • Immigrant and refugee assistance, information, orientation and referral to services
    • Language proficiency assessments and services for businesses and offices
    • Partner Abuse Intervention Program (PAIP) classes for men in both English and Spanish

    These programs are not limited to the Latino/Hispanic population. The organization serves Boone, Jo Daviess, McHenry, Ogle, Stephenson and Winnebago counties.
