“Teddy Bear Health Clinic: Play, Learn & Get Ready for School” in Anna
Create memories, tour the “check-up” stations and meet local healthcare providers, organization representatives and Union County school district staff at this free event for families with young children.
Rural Health, Inc. (RHI), Rural Health Opioid Response Team of Southern Illinois (RCORP), and Davie Elementary/Anna Junior High School will team up for the “Teddy Bear Health Clinic: Play, Learn & Get Ready for School” on July 14 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Davie Elementary/Anna Junior High School in Anna.
Families will enjoy fun activities, learning together and meeting with local healthcare providers, organizations and personnel from Union County school districts.
Young children ages 2 to eighth grade can take a Teddy Bear through a series of “check-up” stations designed to help ease medical fears through hands-on activities.
During their visit, kids will also receive:
- Free first aid, dental and hygiene kits
- A school backpack with classroom supplies
- Hot dogs, chips and drinks
The event will also feature:
- A photo booth
- The story-time reading corner with Stinson Memorial Library
- Back-to-school physicals, dental, and vaccination appointments with Rural Health, Inc.
- The opportunity to meet with local healthcare providers, school staff members
- Area organizations offering services and support
The event is free. No medical or insurance information is required to attend this event.
The first 300 children will receive a free small teddy bear.
