Gain practical strategies, tools and resources in this free webinar series on transitioning from pediatric to adult health care for youth with complex medical needs and disabilities

The Perkins School for the Blind will host “Building the Bridge: Strategies for an Inclusive Healthcare Transition for Individuals with Disabilities” on April 22 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Webinars will continue on Wednesdays through April 29.

Each session will feature expert presenters, several of whom are parents with real-world insights into the unique challenges faced by individuals with complex disabilities.

This session features The Arc of Massachusetts Chief Executive Officer Maura Sullivan. She will help parents:

  • Navigate the move from pediatric to adult healthcare for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities or autism
  • Explore common barriers
  • Gain a deeper understanding of how to promote continuity of care, independence and quality of life for young adults
  • Share challenges and practical strategies to make the transition smoother

The webinar is free. Parents, caregivers, educators, healthcare professionals and advocates are welcome to attend any or all of the sessions.
