Webinar – “Disaster Preparedness for Parents with Disabilities”
A free webinar providing real-life examples and tips for keeping your family safe during a disaster for parents with disabilities
The National Research Center for Parents with Disabilities and the Lurie Institute for Disability Policy will host “Disaster Preparedness for Parents with Disabilities” on Zoom on July 21 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Parents with disabilities need to keep themselves and their children safe during a disaster.
Join Shari Myers and Melissa Marshall from the Partnership for Inclusive Disaster Strategies to learn about emergency preparedness best practices for disabled parents and their families.
Shari and Melissa will discuss:
- Building a realistic emergency kit
- Sheltering in place
- Knowing your rights as a disabled person during a disaster
The presentation will also feature National Research Center for Parents with Disabilities’ advisory board members Judy Brown and Morénike Giwa-Onaiwu.
Judy and Morénike will share their personal experiences with emergency preparedness and disaster response.
