A free webinar for caregivers navigating the complexities of taking care of a loved one with post-traumatic stress disorder

The Caregiver Action Network (CAN) will host “Benchmarks of Care: When Caring Hurts – Managing the Emotional Rollercoaster of Caregiving” on May 26 from 1 to 2 p.m.

Caring for a loved one with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can be incredibly challenging and isolating. For those who are also working, that strain can affect focus, energy, relationships and overall well-being.

This Benchmarks of Care training will explore the emotional realities of caregiving, including anxiety, frustration, guilt and grief.

Join Director of Community Engagement and Partnerships at Mental Health America Niya McCray-Brown, CAN Director of Engagement and Project Management Paola Zambrana, and CAN Director of Community Initiatives Nichole Goble for help with navigating the complexities of PTSD with greater resilience and support.

Caregivers will gain practical tools and compassionate guidance on:

  • How caregiving can affect emotional health and daily functioning
  • Common emotional responses caregivers may experience
  • Practical coping and emotional regulation strategies
  • How to recognize when additional support may be needed

CAN’s Caregiver-Ready Workplaces initiative helps employers recognize caregiving as a workforce issue that affects retention, productivity and employee well-being. Through training, tools and expert-informed support, the program helps organizations take meaningful steps toward becoming more caregiver-ready.
