Weekly cognition, behavior and mindfulness camp featuring interactive group sessions for children ages 5 to 16 with autism and other developmental disabilities

The University of Illinois Chicago’s (UIC) Institute on Disability and Human Development will host “Cognition Behavior and Mindfulness Clinic Summer Camp” from June 15 to June 26 (no camp on June 19 in observance of Juneteenth) at the Cognition Behavior and Mindfulness Clinic,1640 W. Roosevelt Road, in Chicago. Camp sessions will run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.:

  • Week 1: June 15 -18 (no camp on Juneteenth)
  • Week 2: June 22-26

Camp will offer interactive group sessions for students ages 5 to 16 with autism and other disabilities.

Campers will practice mindfulness and social skills, including:

  • Focusing, concentrating and solving problems
  • Managing emotions and making wise choices
  • Paying attention to their inner self
  • Appreciating others and enjoying the world around them

Camp is $30 per day. Week one is $120 per camper. Week two is $150 per week per camper.

The Cognition Behavior and Mindfulness (CBM) Clinic is a multidisciplinary research, training and clinical program that provides high-quality, evidence-based behavior intervention services to children with autism and other developmental disabilities and their families.
