Take the first step toward caring for yourself at this free, evidence-based program to support family caregivers who are feeling overwhelmed or in need of extra support

Senior Services Associates, AgeGuide Northeastern Illinois, Kendall County Health Department and WellMed Charitable Foundation will host an in-person informational session to introduce the “Stress-Busting Program (SBP) for Family Caregivers” on June 9 from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

The SBP for Family Caregivers classes will run from June 16 to Aug. 11 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Yorkville Senior Service Associates in the Austin Room.

The program is for Kendall County caregivers of individuals with chronic illness and/or dementia.

Class topics will include:

  • Learning about stress and its effects
  • Practicing stress management techniques
  • Developing problem-solving skills

This evidence-based program is proven to:

  • Improve the quality of life of family caregivers who are providing care to an older loved one
  • Help caregivers manage their stress and cope better with their lives
