iCan Bike Camp 2025 in New Lenox
A day camp for youth with disabilities ages 8 to 18 to learn to ride a two-wheel bicycle
New Lenox School District 122 (NLSD) is hosting iCan Bike Day Camp from June 23-27. Riders will attend one 75-minute session each day for five consecutive days.
Using adapted bicycles, a specialized instructional program and trained staff, iCan Bike Camp helps children and youth ages 8 to 18 with disabilities learn to ride a two-wheel bicycle.
For five consecutive days, participants will learn to ride while spotters accompany and encourage them. Camp staff adjust the bikes during the week to help riders learn to balance as they gradually discover the skill and joy of riding.
A parent or guardian willing to intervene or assist staff as requested must accompany participants. Other requirements include:
- Attending all five days of camp
- Having a minimum inseam of 20 inches
- Weighing less than 220 pounds
- Walking without assistive devices and being able to side-step to both sides
- Willing to wear a properly fitted helmet
You can also visit the iCan Bike page on the iCan Shine website for more details about the program.
The cost is $225 for New Lenox residents and $325 for non-residents.
