Camp 1839 for Youth Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in Jacksonville
Summer camp fun for children and youth who are deaf or hard of hearing featuring field trips, sports, sign language and Deaf culture activities
Join the Illinois School for the Deaf (ISD) in Jacksonville for “Camp 1839” from June 23-27.
Campers will stay in the dorms and experience life as ISD students.
Camp 1839 will provide a wide range of opportunities for campers to make new friends and develop lifelong connections. Campers will also:
- Learn through play and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) activities
- Explore American Sign Language (ASL) and Deaf culture
- Make a splash at the water park
- Play sports
- Put gaming skills to the test in friendly competition with their peers and more!
Camp 1839 is for students who are deaf or hard of hearing entering fourth through eighth grade in the 2026-27 school year.
The cost is $75 per camper.
