Free educational and activity-based group for children ages 6 to 11 who have a brother or sister with a disability or chronic condition

Advocate Children’s Hospital will host “Sibshops” for children Oct. 3 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Park Ridge.

“Sibshops” offer peer support and fun, educational activities for children who have a brother or sister with a disability or chronic condition.

“Sibshops” is a program of the National Sibling Support Project. Organizations nationwide run “Sibshops” to recognize and address the lifelong and ever-changing concerns of millions of siblings of people with developmental, health and mental health concerns.

Siblings ages 6 to 11 attending the Park Ridge event can:

  • Make new friends
  • Play games
  • Discuss and share their shared experiences, joys and concerns

The session is free. Participants must register and fill out the consent form to attend.
