A free, three-part webinar series on understanding Medicaid managed care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families

The Arc of Illinois is hosting the “Understanding Medicaid Managed Care Webinar Series: National Trends in Medicaid Managed Care for Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD)” starting on Oct. 28 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

This series is for self-advocates, families, providers and advocates. It will bring together experts to share national perspectives and information about a proposed model for Illinois. The hope is that the information will provide a better understanding of the topics and offer some comfort as you become more informed.

Join Mary Sowers, Executive Director of the National Association of State Directors of Developmental Disabilities Services (NASDDDS), to explore how managed care organizations (MCOs) have evolved nationally to serve people with IDD.

Mary will explain the findings from NASDDDS’s new national scan of Medicaid managed care practices for people with IDD, including:

  • The different state models in use
  • Quality and oversight protections
  • Trends Illinois families and providers should be watching

Participants are welcome to join one or all three of the webinars.

This webinar series aims to provide information and share different perspectives. The proposed Illinois model does not represent an endorsement from The Arc of Illinois.

Register for “National Trends in Medicaid Managed Care for Individuals with IDD” on Zoom.

The webinar series will continue from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. with:

  • Session two, “Medicaid Managed Care Updates” on Nov. 4
  • Session three, “Deon Health and Community Supported Care Partners of Illinois” on Nov. 10
