The Arc of Illinois’ Family Support Network and Family Advocate Program will host its 2026 Mini Conference on Sept. 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Alsip.

Hear from keynote speaker Jay Bohn about Medicaid and waiver services and special guest Shahzaib “Shazz” Shakeel about Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits. Topics will include:
- Medicaid and waiver services
- PUNS registration and selection
- Eligibility and next steps
- Navigating disability services
Disability Liaison for the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office, Bill Bogdan, will discuss the new law allowing legal guardians of adults with disabilities to qualify for meter-exempt disability parking placards when transporting individuals who cannot drive.
