Virtual Special Education Parent Summit
Illinois families raising children and young adults with disabilities are invited to three free days of practical information and support
Family Matters Parent Training and Information Center will host its “Virtual Special Education Parent Summit” from Oct. 20 – 22. The summit will cover different topics each day:
- Oct. 20 – Special Education Basics, 8:30 a.m. to 4:10 p.m.
- Oct. 21- Secondary Transition, 8:30 a.m. to 4:10 p.m.
- Oct. 22 – Special Education and Transition in Spanish, 9:30 a.m. to 3:10 p.m.
Whether you’re new to special education or looking to strengthen your knowledge, this summit will provide practical information to help you support your child’s educational journey with confidence.
This virtual event will help families better understand:
- Special education and Individualized Education Program (IEP) basics
- Accommodations, behavior and mental health
- Transition to adult life
- ABLE accounts, PUNS and adult services
The Parent Summit is free.
Attend one session or join all three days. One registration covers the entire summit.
