DESCRIPTION:Illinois families raising children and young adults with disabi
 lities are invited to three free days of practical information and support
 \n\nFamily Matters Parent Training and Information Center will host its "V
 irtual Special Education Parent Summit" from Oct. 20 - 22.  The summit wi
 ll cover different topics each day:\n\n 	Oct. 20 - Special Education Basic
 s\, 8:30 a.m. to 4:10 p.m.\n 	Oct. 21- Secondary Transition\, 8:30 a.m. to
  4:10 p.m.\n 	Oct. 22 - Special Education and Transition in Spanish\, 9:30
  a.m. to 3:10 p.m.\n\nWhether you're new to special education or looking t
 o strengthen your knowledge\, this summit will provide practical informati
 on to help you support your child's educational journey with confidence.\n
 \nThis virtual event will help families better understand:\n\n 	Special ed
 ucation and Individualized Education Program (IEP) basics\n 	Accommodation
 s\, behavior and mental health\n 	Transition to adult life\n 	ABLE account
 s\, PUNS and adult services\n\nThe Parent Summit is free.\n\nAttend one se
 ssion or join all three days. One registration covers the entire summit.\n
