Catch-22 Resource and Transition Fair in Chicago
A free, one-stop resource and transition fair featuring organizations and information for youth and young adults with intellectual, developmental and mental health disabilities and their caregivers
Join Every Step of the Way Resource Center (ESW) for its second annual Catch-22 Resource and Transition Fair on Aug. 8 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Ridge Park District Fieldhouse, 1817 W. 96th St. (off 96th and Longwood Avenue), in Chicago. Workshops on transition to adulthood and other topics will begin at 11:30 a.m.
ESW focuses on helping individuals with intellectual, developmental and mental health disabilities ages 18 and up. It offers children and their caregivers information on transitioning to adulthood and connecting them with the resources they need after turning 22.
Participants can enjoy networking and exploring a wide range of activities, including:
- Meeting with representatives and learning about state agencies, community organizations and businesses serving adults with intellectual, developmental and mental health disabilities ages 18 to 59
- Learning about community resources for transition-age youth ages 14 to 22 to prepare for life after high school
- Workshops on transition planning and other topics beginning at 11:30 a.m.
- The Relax and Renew Sensory Room
- Making memories at the photo booth
- Raffles and more!
The event is free. Food and beverages will be available to buy.
