Join the Children’s Theatre of Elgin (CTE) and Fox Valley Theatre Company for a sensory-friendly performance of Disney’s “The Descendants: The Musical” on Saturday, April 18, from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

This sensory performance will provide a positive experience for people who are neurodivergent, have epilepsy, autism or prefer a less intense sensory experience. It will include:

  • Lights on
  • Lower sounds
  • Fewer special effects

Imprisoned on the Isle of the Lost – home of the most infamous villains who ever lived – the teenage children of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Jafar, and Cruella De Vil have never ventured off the island until now.

See what happens when the troublemakers are sent to attend prep school alongside the children of beloved Disney heroes. Will they follow in their parents’ wicked footsteps or learn to be good?

The show is jam-packed with:

  • Comedy
  • Adventure
  • Disney characters
  • Hit songs from the films

This performance is for individuals requiring any accommodations and their families.

Register for the sensory-friendly performance of Disney’s “The Descendants: The Musical.”  The performance is free, but CTE suggests a $10 donation at the door to help with production costs. CTE will accept cash or Venmo.

An American Sign Language-interpreted version of Disney’s “The Descendants: The Musical” will take place on April  19 from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m. Buy tickets and see more details on CTE/FVTC’s website.
