Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing Family Day at Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago
A free day of fun and learning about the zoo animals for families of children who are deaf and hard of hearing
Join the Chicago Hearing Society (CHS) for “Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing Family Day at Lincoln Park Zoo” on Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Bring the whole family and have fun exploring the Lincoln Park Zoo Fall Fest!
CHS activities at the Hurvis Learning Center will include:
- Learning about being a zoo veterinarian with hands-on activities
- Eating snacks
- Creating crafts
- Storytelling in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Making new friends and building community
ASL interpreters will be at the “zoo talks” all day so that you can continue learning and having fun at the zoo after the CHS event ends.
Hurvis Learning Center is located in the northern part of Lincoln Park Zoo.
The event is free.
Register for “Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing Family Day at Lincoln Park Zoo.” Families must sign up in advance to attend the event.
Parking is available at the zoo’s lot located at Fullerton Parkway and Cannon Drive (2400 N. Cannon Drive). Guests will receive parking passes at the event so that you can park for free!
The zoo is also accessible by train via the Armitage and Fullerton stations and by bus via the 22, 36, 151, and 156 routes.
