YMCA Camp Independence for Teens With Spina Bifida in Ingleside
A traditional overnight camp experience for teens ages 14 to 19 with spina bifida and other neurological disabilities
Make a lifetime of memories at YMCA Camp Independence! Overnight Camp Sessions will run from June 23 to July 26. Check-in is on Sunday at 2 p.m. Check-out is on Friday at 2 p.m.
Three sessions will take place in June and July:
- Session 2 on June 23 – 28
- Session 4 on July 7 -12
- Session 6 on July 21 -26
Campers will learn alongside others with different abilities in an environment where they can be successful. They will enjoy:
- Playing sports
- Creating arts and crafts
- Singing around the campfire
- Boating and more
These overnight sessions are open to teens ages 14 to 19 with spina bifida and other neurological disabilities. Campers will be active in their own care.
The cost is $1,850 per camper per session. Financial assistance is available on a first-come, first-served basis while funds last. After registering for camp, please email campduncan@ymcachicago.org to request a financial assistance package.
