YMCA Camp Independence for Teens With Spina Bifida in Ingleside
A traditional overnight camp experience for teens ages 14 to 19 with spina bifida and other neurological disabilities
Make a lifetime of memories at YMCA Camp Independence! Overnight camp sessions for teens ages 14 to 19 with spina bifida and other neurological disabilities will take place in June and July:
- Session 2 will run June 21-26
- Session 4 will run July 5-10
Check-in is on Sunday at 2 p.m. Check-out is on Friday at 2 p.m.
Campers will have fun learning alongside others with different abilities. Activities will include:
- Playing sports
- Creating arts and crafts
- Singing around the campfire
- Boating and more
Campers will be active in their own care.

The cost is $1,850 per camper per session. Financial assistance is available. Please review the options listed on the registration form and complete the Financial Assistance Form included in the registration materials.
Register online using the YMCA Chicago’s website. Registration will open on Jan. 2. Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited.
