Registration will open on Feb. 9 for the day camp lottery for campers ages 3 to 21 with disabilities

Enrollment for West Suburban Special Recreation Association’s (WSSRA) summer day camp is determined by lottery.

WSSRA will open the lottery registration period for two weeks:

  • Registration will open on Feb. 9 at 9 a.m.
  • Registration will close on Feb. 20 at 5 p.m.
  • WSSRA will contact families by email on March 4 to let them know if they are registered or on the waitlist.

Registration will reopen on March 12 for anyone who missed the lottery and would like to be placed on the waitlist.

Full and half-day options for “Peace, Love and WSSRA” will run from June 8 to July 24:

  • Session 1 – June 8 to July 2 (four weeks)
  • Session 2 – July 6-24 (three weeks)

WSSRA serves campers who live within the boundaries of the following communities and entities:

  • Village of Harwood Heights
  • Village of Elmwood Park
  • Village of North Riverside
  • Village of Riverside
  • Village of River Grove
  • Berwyn Park District
  • Park District of Forest Park
  • Park District Franklin Park
  • Norridge Park District
  • North Berwyn Park District
  • Park District of Oak Park
  • River Forest Park District
  • Veterans Park District

Campers will enjoy a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities.

WSSRA assigns campers to a site based on their age and individual needs. Typically, sites are in Berwyn, Oak Park, Franklin Park, Forest Park and Northlake.

Scholarships may be available for a percentage of camp and transportation fees. You must show proof of income. You can get a scholarship application and more information on the WSSRA website.

Door-to-door transportation is available for an additional fee. Limited spots are available.

Sign up for the day camp lottery. Lottery registration is open until Feb. 20 at 5 p.m. Applying families will receive emails on March 4, notifying them if they are registered for camp or on the waitlist.
