Family Matters Parent Training and Information Center (FMPTIC) will host “The Importance of Extracurricular Activities for Students With Disabilities” webinar on Nov. 27 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Learn how inclusive extracurricular opportunities can help in the transition planning process by building essential social and vocational skills.
Designed for parents and school professionals, this presentation will cover:
- Why extracurricular activities are important
- Inclusion and rights under the Individuals With Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504
- Fostering a Least Restrictive Environment (LRE)
- Strategies for advocating for accessible activities in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
