Free webinar on how to help develop language skills in children who are deaf or hard of hearing
Clerc Center at Gallaudet will host “Power of ‘AND’ in Deaf Education: Language Acquisition and Language Learning” on May 13 from 6 to 7 p.m.
Children who are deaf or hard of hearing can achieve better language outcomes when they are immersed in rich, accessible language environments.
Join Boston University researchers Dr. Naomi Caselli and Dr. Kaj Kraus to learn about developing language skills and helping children who are deaf or hard of hearing reach their full developmental potential.
Discussion topics will include:
- The importance of exposing children to sign language – either alone or in addition to spoken language
- Creating accessible language environments
- Treating access to language as a structured skill set
