MyFace Senior Program Officer Rena Rosen will moderate this discussion exploring the experience of living with an acquired facial difference as a result of an accident or disease.
Panelists Aaron James and Dan Elston will discuss:
- The emotional, social and psychological aspects of self-acceptance
- The courage it takes to embrace a new identity
Aaron is a 12-year lineman and three-tour military veteran. He recently made medical history as the first person to undergo a whole eye and partial face transplant.
Dan is a former international tennis player and NCAA Division 1 athlete. He was 7 years old when a traffic accident left him with severe facial scarring across his head, face and body.
