Free webinar for youth with disabilities and their families/caregivers on the transition to adulthood and important information to know

Join The Arc of Illinois‘ Illinois Life Span (ILS) and Family to Family Health Information Center (F2FHIC) programs for “Knowledge is Power: The Transition to Adulthood” on July 9 from 12 to 1 p.m.

Suzanne Aaron is the Northern Illinois information and outreach specialist for ILS. She is also the parent of a young adult with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Suzanne will lead participants in a lively discussion about the transition to adulthood.

Topics will include:

• Defining and creating a meaningful day/week/life
• Encouraging adult decision-making options
• Reviewing a checklist of action items as the child enters adulthood

Suzanne will also provide an overview of the Illinois system and steps for promoting change.
