Join The Arc of Illinois‘ Illinois Life Span (ILS) and Family to Family Health Information Center (F2FHIC) programs for “Knowledge is Power: The Transition to Adulthood” on July 9 from 12 to 1 p.m.
Suzanne Aaron is the Northern Illinois information and outreach specialist for ILS. She is also the parent of a young adult with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Suzanne will lead participants in a lively discussion about the transition to adulthood.
Topics will include:
- Defining and creating a meaningful day/week/life
- Encouraging adult decision-making options
- Reviewing a checklist of action items as the child enters adulthood
Suzanne will also provide an overview of the Illinois system and steps for promoting change.
