Webinar – “Inside Deaf Education: Planning Opportunities for Expressive Language”
A free webinar for educators, speech-language professionals and others looking to help students who are deaf and hard of hearing strengthen expressive skills to meet academic and real-world goals
Join the Clerc Center at Gallaudet for “Inside Deaf Education: Planning Opportunities for Expressive Language” on June 4 from 3 to 4 p.m.
Too often, discussions about the language needs of students who are deaf and hard of hearing focus on what they lack.
This webinar is ideal for educators, speech-language professionals and others looking to shift from a deficit-based lens to a strengths-based framework.
Six experienced Clerc Center educators will share strategies for reframing expressive language development. Panelists will provide:
- Powerful classroom examples and student work
- Video clips
- Intentionally designed lessons to help students of all ages strengthen expressive skills to meet academic and real-world goals
Come with your questions and examples to share during the live question-and-answer session.
Participants will leave with practical ideas they can use immediately.
American Sign Language (ASL)/English interpretation and closed captioning will be available. Email clerc.center@gallaudet.edu for more accessibility accommodations no later than May 27.
