Family Matters Parent Training and Information Center will host “IL ABLE Accounts: What Parents, Guardians and Families of Students With Disabilities Need to Know” on Sept. 16 from 12 to 1 p.m.
The state of Illinois sponsors the Illinois Achieving a Better Life Experience (IL ABLE) plan, and the Office of the Illinois State Treasurer administers the program.
Learn how an IL ABLE Account can help people with disabilities and their families save and invest their money, and protect a student’s current or future federal benefits, such as Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Medicaid.
Join IL ABLE Enrollment Specialist Elizabeth Campos Hamilton to discover this important financial tool for people with disabilities and their families. Elizabeth will discuss:
- IL ABLE Account benefits
- Eligibility criteria and who can open and manage an IL ABLE account
- How an IL ABLE Account can help to improve quality of life and build greater financial independence for the future
