A free webinar providing steps and requirements for opening an IL ABLE account, a savings and investment account for people with disabilities
Illinois ABLE (Achieving a Better Life Experience) will host “Get Ready to Open an IL ABLE Account” on May 26 from 1 to 2 p.m.
IL ABLE accounts give people with disabilities and their families greater financial independence while preserving benefits.
Join IL ABLE account team members to learn:
- Who is eligible to own an IL ABLE account
- Who can open an account
- How IL ABLE can be a savings tool for individuals with disabilities
- How people receiving benefits such as Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Medicaid can build assets with an IL ABLE account
- How IL ABLE accounts work alongside other financial tools, such as special needs trusts and retirement accounts
The webinar is free.
Self-advocates and anyone who supports individuals living with a disability are welcome to attend, including parents, guardians, spouses, Social Security representative payees, attorneys, financial advisors, social workers and healthcare workers.
