A free webinar focusing on strategies for collaborative transition planning to help students with disabilities prepare for life after high school

Join the University of Illinois Chicago’s Institute on Disability and Human Development (IDHD), the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities (IL LEND) and The Autism Program of Illinois (TAP) for “From School to Adulthood: Collaborative Strategies for Successful Transitions” on Zoom on Dec. 11 from 12 to 1 p.m.

Preparing students with disabilities for life after high school requires thoughtful, collaborative transition planning.

Megan Mutti, MA, Executive Director of the Family Matters Parent Training and Information Center, will discuss evidence-based strategies to strengthen family and student engagement during the transition process.

Megan will walk participants through common barriers to engagement and offer practical tools for:

  • Supporting person-centered planning
  • Promoting student voice and self-advocacy
  • Building partnerships between schools, families and adult service systems

Megan will also share promising practices for fostering meaningful post-school outcomes in employment, education and community living.
