Webinar – Digital Literacy Series: “Frauds and Scams”
A free, four-part webinar series to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), their parents and support workers build skills for today’s digital world
The Arc of Illinois will kick off its digital literacy webinar series with “Frauds and Scams” on April 7 from 10 to 11 a.m.
Join The Arc of Illinois’ Senior Community Mobilization Manager, Jennifer Thibodeaux Sands, to gain the skills you need to protect your safety on the phone and on the computer.
In this session, Jennifer will guide participants through:
- Understanding the difference between good (trustworthy) and bad (fraudulent) communication
- Exploring examples of phone and email scams
- Practicing skills to help you feel confident and find your voice online
The webinar series is free. You can register for as many sessions as you would like to attend.
The information is for individuals with IDD, but parents and support workers are highly encouraged to attend.
See the Digital Literacy Series flyer for more details.
Register for “Frauds and Scams” on The Arc of Illinois’ website.
The next session, “Internet Security,” will be on April 14 from 10 to 11 a.m.
