The Arc of Illinois‘ Family-to-Family Health Information Center and Illinois Life Span Program (ILS) will host “Available Resources through Vocational Rehabilitation – Supports for Schools, College and Employment” on Oct. 13 from 12 to 1 p.m.

Vocational Rehabilitation offers a variety of services to individuals with a disability beginning at age 14.

Join the Manager of Transition and Community Services (TCRS), Kristin Wagner, and the Statewide Coordinator for Vocational Rehabilitation and Related Employment Services, Jenni Grissom, to explore the different options available and how to access services, including:

  • Services for students during their school years
  • Education and training opportunities after high school (including college programs)
  • Employment contracts offered by the Illinois Department of Human Services, Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) Vocational Rehabilitation and how to apply

Kristin worked in various social service agencies before joining the state of Illinois in 2007. As the Manager of TCRS, she monitors and manages statewide vocational rehabilitation contracts, including adult job placement contracts and pre-employment transition services for students with disabilities.

Jenni brings over 34 years of public-sector experience, including 26 years with the Illinois Department of Human Services. She leads statewide efforts to expand competitive integrated employment and strengthen Individual Placement and Support (IPS) through training, technical assistance, and fidelity oversight.
