Family Matters Parent Training and Information Center will host “Connecting Your Supports Star to the IEP Process” on Aug. 20 from 12 to 12:45 p.m.
The webinar is part eight of a 2-session virtual series that introduces Charting the LifeCourse (CtLC), a practical, family-centered framework for planning across the lifespan. Each month, families, youth, and professionals will explore one key CtLC tool or concept through:
- Short videos
- Guided discussion
- Examples of how families are using these tools to plan, connect and advocate for the life they want
This session will explore:
- How to connect school-based services with supports beyond the classroom
- Identifying gaps and opportunities
- Using the Supports Star to prepare meaningful questions and talking points for Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings
Participants will leave with practical tools to strengthen collaboration and create more person-centered plans.
There will also be time to network, share ideas and connect with others on similar journeys.
The webinars are free. Anyone supporting students and young adults with disabilities is welcome to attend.
