The Disability Employment Technical Assistance Center (DETAC) and its partners will host “The ABLE Age Adjustment Act and Tools to Support Financial Empowerment” on April 14 from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
Join this celebration and gain important information on building your financial future! The presentation will cover:
- Understanding the changes to ABLE (Achieving a Better Life Experience Act), including the new contribution limit and expanded age eligibility
- Accessing resources
- Learning how to use the Secure Your Financial Future toolkit
The presenters are:

- Julie Hocker, MBA, Assistant Secretary of Labor for Disability Employment Policy, ODEP, U.S. Department of Labor

- Jody Ellis, MSW, Director, ABLE NRC, National Disability Institute
- Edward Mitchell, MBA, Executive Director an ABLE Ambassador, Tennessee Statewide Independent Living Council
- Hector Ramirez, Commissioner and ABLE Ambassador, California Commission on Disabilities
Participants will also hear from ABLE ambassadors on how they use their ABLE accounts and the toolkit to support their financial independence.
The event is free. Self-advocates, their family members and caregivers of a loved one with disabilities are welcome to attend.
The webinar will be live captioned (with Spanish machine translations) and have American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation available. Please include any accommodations you need on your registration form.
