Virtual – Bilingual Summer Reading Challenge for American Sign Language
A free bilingual reading challenge for children ages 2 to 8 years old to build American Sign Language and literacy skills
Clerc Center at Gallaudet University and Motion Light Lab are hosting the “Bilingual Summer Reading Challenge” through Aug. 31.
Whether your child is just starting to explore stories or is already reading independently, the Summer Reading Challenge books and activities will keep little brains active, busy and engaged all summer long!
Participants will enjoy:
- American Sign Language storytelling
- Bilingual language exposure
- Learning sign language
- Expanding a wide range of literacy skills
Children can sign up to unlock a whole bookshelf of free bilingual signed stories!
To earn a prize, your child will need to:
- Read all 10 storybooks
- Complete the matching sections on the ASL literacy activities page
