Event Type

Free, virtual educational and activity-based group for teens ages 12 and up who have a brother or sister with a disability or chronic condition

Advocate Children’s Hospital will host “Sibshops for Teens” on Zoom on April 17 from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

Sibshops is a program of the National Sibling Support Project. Organizations nationwide run Sibshops to recognize and address the lifelong and ever-changing concerns of millions of siblings of people with developmental, health and mental health concerns.

Advocate Children’s Hospital Teen Sibshops offer peer support and fun, educational activities for teens with a brother or sister who has a disability or chronic condition.

Teens ages 12 and up can enjoy:

  • Games
  • Discussions with other siblings about their shared experiences, joys and concerns

Sibshops are open to all teens with a brother or sister who has special needs or a chronic illness. They do not need to be a patient of Advocate, and Sibshops is not an insurance-based program.

All Sibshops programming at Advocate is currently free.

To register for the virtual “Sibshops for Teens” sessions, please contact Ahren Hoffman at ahren.hoffman@aah.org or (872) 843-0300. You must register to attend.

Virtual Teen Sibshops  are also scheduled for May 15 and June 19 from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
