Third Annual “Celebration of Special Recreation” in Bolingbrook
Have a blast making connections and learning about community resources, disability services and adaptive recreation opportunities!
Join the Bolingbrook Arts Council, Northern Will County Special Recreation Association (NWCSRA), Bolingbrook Park District and other sponsors for the third annual “Celebration of Special Recreation” on Oct. 5 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
People of all ages and abilities will enjoy making connections, learning about community resources and trying out a wide variety of special recreation and adaptive activities.
This free event will feature:
- A resource fair with local vendors of disability services
- Vision screenings
- Book mobile
- Adaptive rock climbing
- Beep Baseball for the visually impaired
- Horse meet and greets
- NWCSRA sensory room
- Tabletop sensory clay play
- Wheelchair basketball, sit volleyball and GoalBall
- Wheelchair rugby demonstration
- ZotArtz black light adaptive painting and more!
Participants can also enjoy free popcorn, hot dogs and snow cones.
Representatives from the University of Illinois Chicago’s Division of Specialized Care for Children (DSCC) will provide information about our programs for children and youth with special healthcare needs along with coloring books, pens and other goodies. Bring your questions and be sure to stop by our booth!
