“Summer Moms’ Retreat: Fostering Strength, Resilience and Balance” and Book Study for Chicago Moms of Children With Disabilities
A free retreat and book study for Chicago moms of children with disabilities and special healthcare needs to relax, find support and gain balance
STAR NET Region V will host its “Summer Moms’ Retreat: Fostering Strength, Resilience and Balance” on Aug. 8 and 9. Confirmed registrants will receive the retreat location after signing up.
Moms of children up to age 8 with an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP), an Individualized Education Program (IEP), or a 504 and who live in Chicago will receive priority to attend.
The STAR NET V team is ready to help moms create a space for positivity and self-care with other mothers of children with disabilities and special healthcare needs. This year’s retreat includes time away and a book study discussion in the fall.
Through strategic activities, moms will:
- Build mental and physical resilience to navigate challenges
- Discover how to balance the “day-to-day hard” with essential self-care
- Enjoy networking and sharing in a welcoming and supportive environment
Participants will read the book “How to Handle More Than You Can Handle: Caring for Yourself While Raising a Disabled Child” and then dive deeper during webinar discussions in the fall.
The book study and retreat are free. You must commit to doing both activities to participate.
Register online for the book study and retreat.
Registration is a two-step process. Participants will receive instructions for completing the second step via email after the initial registration.
Don’t miss this opportunity to recharge, connect and walk away with practical strategies to improve your well-being and support your family.
