Student-Centered Transitions FMPTIC Learning Series: “Student-Centered Transitions: The FMPTIC Learning Series”
A free, six-part webinar series providing practical tools, implementation strategies and systems-level knowledge for teachers, professionals and family members supporting students with disabilities navigate transition planning
Family Matters Parent Training and Information Center (FMPTIC) and Illinois Elevating Special Educators (IESE) will host “Student-Centered Transitions: The FMPTIC Learning Series” from April 30 through Sept. 24. The monthly webinars are on the last Thursday of each month from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
The next session, “Building Social Networks to Improve Postsecondary Outcomes,” will take place on June 25.
The series will also cover:
- July 30 – “Understanding Employment Supports for Youth with Disabilities”
- Aug. 27 – “Opening Doors: Student-Centered Postsecondary Education Pathways for All Learners”
- Sept. 24 – “Building Self-Determination Through Self-Directed IEPs: Practical Tools for Implementation”
This series will provide a step-by-step focus on helping students with disabilities achieve meaningful outcomes after high school in employment, education and independent living.
Each session will include:
- Practical tools
- Systems-level knowledge
- Implementation strategies
