Special Camps Overnight Camp for Adults with Developmental Disabilities Ages 23 and Up in Ingelside
Overnight camp opportunities for children and adults with intellectual disabilities ages 8 and older
Special Camps is an overnight, all-volunteer-run camp for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
While families and caregivers get a week-long respite, trained staff and 24-hour nursing provide a safe place for campers to explore new opportunities encouraging independence, self-esteem and friendships.
Special Camps 2024 overnight sessions will be held on:
- June 2 – 7 for adult campers ages 23 and up
- June 9 – 14 for campers ages 8 to 22 (Campers will be in a group for ages 8 – 13 or 14 – 23)
This year’s Special Camps will be held at Camp Red Leaf in Ingleside where campers will enjoy activities including:
- Swimming in a heated pool
- A rope course,climbing wall and zipline
- Archery and outdoor sports
- Canoeing and fishing
- Arts and crafts
- Hayrides, campfire songs and s’mores
The cost is $450 per session. Partial scholarships may be available.
