Special Camps Overnight Camp for Children and Youth with Developmental Disabilities Ages 9-22 in Ingleside
Overnight camp opportunities for children and young adults with intellectual disabilities ages 9 to 22
Special Camps is an overnight, all-volunteer-run camp for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
While families and caregivers get a week-long respite, trained staff and 24-hour nursing provide a safe place for campers to explore:
- New opportunities
- Independence and self-esteem
- Friendships
Special Camps will host an overnight camp session for children and young adults on June 15 to 20. This session is for campers ages 9 to 22. The camp will divide youth into groups for ages 9 to 13 and ages 14 to 23.
Campers will enjoy activities including:
- Swimming in a heated pool
- A rope course, climbing wall and zipline
- Archery and outdoor sports
- Canoeing and fishing
- Arts and crafts
- Hayrides, campfire songs and s’mores
The cost is $400 per session. Scholarships are available for campers in need.
