A free one-stop event for shredding your documents, disposing of unwanted medications, getting vaccinated and more in Murphysboro

The Jackson County Health Department (JCHD) will host “Shred, Med, Sharps, and More Disposal Day” on April 26 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The event will include:

Free and confidential document shredding
Free and safe disposal of unwanted medications
Colorectal cancer screening (FIT) kits
Prostate screening referrals
TDap, RSV, MMR, pneumonia and flu vaccines (schedule an appointment online or drop in)

JCHD will also host a healthy food drive. Please consider dropping off nutritious, nonperishable food items to help fight food insecurity in Jackson County.
