Mañanas en el museo / Mornings at the Museum in Chicago
Free, sensory-friendly opportunity for families to enjoy museum activities and making art
Join the National Museum of Mexican Art (NMMA) for “Mañanas en el museo” on Dec. 8 from 9 to 11 a.m.
Mañanas en el museo provides a calm environment where individuals who are neurodiverse or who have sensory sensitivities can explore the galleries before the museum opens to the public.
Families and their children can enjoy a variety of activities, including:
- Making art in the creative studio
- Learning and laughing together
- Using the interactive educational booklet to engage with the exhibits
Sensory bags with ear defenders, fidgets, sunglasses and activity sheets are available to check out at the front desk.
The free event is open to people of all ages and developmental levels.
