“Low Sensory Morning” at the Nature Museum in Chicago
Free opportunity to explore museum exhibits in a quieter, less crowded and welcoming environment for people with disabilities
Join the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum of the Chicago Academy of Sciences for “Low Sensory Morning” on Sept. 18 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Guests with disabilities, their families and companions can experience museum exhibits in a more calming and relaxing environment.
The event will include:
- Smaller groups and limited capacity with advanced registration
- Exhibits with the lights and sound turned down
- Sensory-friendly critter connections
- First flight butterfly release
Guests can enjoy the low-sensory changes until noon.
The museum also offers sensory-friendly apps, sensory kits and quiet rooms for breaks.
