“Inclusion is Jaw-Some!” at the Peoria Riverfront Museum

Dive into a sea of inclusivity at this free, sensory-friendly museum event for individuals of all ages and abilities

Join the Peoria Riverfront MuseumArt Bridges Access for All and The Autism Collective for “Inclusion is Jaw-Some” on July 14 from 12 to 5 p.m.

Enjoy a day filled with sensory-friendly fun, acceptance, understanding and endless discoveries at the Peoria Riverfront Museum! Individuals of all ages and abilities are welcome to attend.

Families can browse the Autism Collective Resource Fair supporting individuals seeking resources and services for autism and other developmental disabilities. You can also explore the “Sharks” exhibition with dozens of true to size models.

Other Access for All activities will include:

  • Music from Lucas Miller, “The Singing Zoologist”
  • Traveling “under the sea” with sharks and other sea creatures through augmented reality
  • Meeting and greeting the Windy City Mermaids
  • Face painting
  • Yard games
  • Shark drawing activities
  • Shark dissection with OSF STEAM
  • Snow cones and more

Hang Ten Calm Rooms will also provide a mobile calm room for anyone wanting a break from the excitement.

Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All program provides free admission to the Peoria Riverfront Museum every second Sunday. Access for All seeks to increase access to museums by covering the costs of free admission days, programming, outreach and community partnerships.
