Illinois STEM Week for College-Bound High School Students Who Are Deaf and Hard of Hearing

Free opportunity for college-bound students ages 14 to 19 who are deaf or hard of hearing to explore their interest in careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM)

Join the Rochester Institute of Technology’s National Technical Institute for the Deaf and the Illinois Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Rehabilitation Services, for Illinois STEM Week on June 23 to 28.

The program is for all eligible high school students who are deaf or hard of hearing ages 14 to 19 with approval from the DHS, Department of Vocational Rehabilitation.

Students will:

  • Get hands-on experience in technology and specialized skills
  • Build confidence and develop decision-making skills
  • Participate in unique and interesting engineering challenges
  • Make new friends from throughout Illinois and have fun

Students will also have an opportunity to work with career counselors and faculty in small group settings to determine their interests and explore STEM career options.
