Heroes Unite Autism Acceptance and Child Abuse Prevention Celebration in Elgin

A free community event for people of all ages and abilities to raise awareness and provide information about Autism Acceptance Month and Child Abuse Prevention Month

The Elgin Police Department and the Autism Hero Project will host the annual “Heroes Unite Autism Acceptance and Child Abuse Prevention Celebration” on April 25 from 1 to 4 p.m.

Activities will take place both inside and outside the Elgin Police Department.

Visitors can:

  • Spend time exploring activities
  • Have fun together
  • Raise awareness for people living with autism
  • Learn how everyone can help prevent child abuse

Participants can sign up for Family Finder, Premise Alert and Simulated Traffic Stops. Other activities will include:

  • Sensory areas
  • More than 50 vendors and family resources
  • Games, magic shows and a petting zoo
  • Glowby the Bubbler, face painting and an art installation
  • Music and entertainment
  • Gaming mobile truck for up to 20 players
  • Free popcorn, ice cream and more!

You can also register to attend a free Traffic Stop Simulation Scenarios session with first responders.

The Heroes Unite is a free and inclusive event.
