Join Code Your Dreams and Deaf Kids Code for “Hack for Accessibility” on April 5 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

This exciting one-day hackathon for professionals and high school and university students aims to foster innovation and inclusion in technology.

The event brings together Chicago technologists – high school students, college students and professionals – to develop accessible software and/or hardware concepts and tech solutions for all communities.

The event will include university and professional tracks. Code Your Dreams and Deaf Kids Code will also host a track for high school students.

Participants will:

  • Explore how to make technology more inclusive and equitable
  • Collaborate to create impactful, accessible tech solutions
  • Mentor each other
  • Gain hands-on experience
  • Make a difference in building technology for everyone

American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters, captioning and assistive devices will be available. Tickets include breakfast, lunch, networking opportunities with technology professionals and recruiters, and prizes.

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) high school students, from beginners to seasoned coders, are welcome and can attend for free with registration.

The cost for university students and professionals is $35 per person. University students and professionals with financial needs may apply for a scholarship.
