“Family Fun Day” for Siblings of Children With Disabilities and Their Families in Oregon, Ill.

A free event filled with family fun and an opportunity for siblings to make friends, share experiences and enjoy activities with other siblings of children with disabilities

Join STAR NET Regions I & III, Easterseals Serving Chicagoland and Greater Rockford and Kreider Services Inc. for “Family Fun Day” on Feb. 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Nash Recreation Center in Oregon, Ill.

The event will provide fun for the entire family and offer an opportunity for siblings to explore the joys and challenges of having a sibling with disabilities.

Local yoga instructor Kara Schabacker will lead a variety of wellness-focused activities throughout the day, including:

• An opportunity for siblings of children with disabilities to have fun and share their concerns and insights
• Learning about self-care tips for the whole family
• Exploring yoga and other techniques for releasing stress

Families can also enjoy splashing in the water and swimming together in the afternoon.

The event is free.
