“Express Yourself!” Acting and Improv Class for Teens and Adults With Disabilities in Springfield
A fun and welcoming acting and improv class to encourage creativity, build confidence and discover self-expression
Join Springfield Park District’s Special Recreation for “Express Yourself!” from Jan. 12 through April 27. These acting and improv classes will be on the second and last Monday of each month from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The class dates are:
- Jan. 12 and 26
- Feb. 9 and 23
- March 9 and 23
- April 13 and 27
This fun and welcoming acting and improv class will encourage creativity, confidence and self-expression in a supportive environment.
Participants will explore:
- Acting and improv
- Developing verbal, nonverbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Expressing themselves physically, emotionally and creatively
- Forming friendships that go beyond the stage
The classes are for people with disabilities aged 14 and older. No prior acting experience needed!
The cost is $8 per class for residents and $10.50 per class for non-residents. Springfield Park District residents may be eligible for financial help. Download the recreational scholarship application.
