“Every Child Belongs” in Edwardsville
A welcoming and accessible museum experience for children of all abilities and needs
The Edwardsville Children’s Museum (ECM) will host “Every Child Belongs” on Oct. 21. Sensory-friendly play time will be available:
- In the morning from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- In the evening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
“Every Child Belongs” offers a welcoming and accessible museum experience for children of all abilities and needs. Children and their families will enjoy:
- Less noise
- Lower lighting
- Fewer visitors
Sensory play is a fun, powerful tool that supports:
- Brain development
- Fine motor skills
- Language growth
- Problem-solving abilities
Tickets are $5 per child. Registration is required.

A Sensory-Friendly Museum Map is available to help plan your trip. The map highlights all sensory-friendly, ALMA-marked exhibits so you can move through the museum at your own pace.
The welcome desk also provides Assistive Language & Material Aid (ALMA) take-home kits designed to support children with sensory needs during their visit.
ECM will host the next “Every Child Belongs” on Nov. 11. Families may choose from the morning session, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., or the evening session, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
