Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) Week for Children and Youth Who Are Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing

Join DEAR Week and help children and youth who are deaf, deafblind or hard of hearing discover the joy of reading!

Join the Chicago Hearing Society (CHS) for Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) Week from Dec. 1 to 7.

DEAR Week is a great way to help children and youth who are deaf, deafblind or hard of hearing discover the joy of reading.

During DEAR Week, participants will receive a daily newsletter from CHS highlighting:

• American Sign Language (ASL) storytelling videos
• Literacy tips
• Book recommendations for a variety of ages featuring characters who are deaf, deafblind or hard of hearing

It’s free to participate. Simply sign up to receive the hearing society’s DEAR Week newsletter by email.  School classes, families and individuals are welcome to join!
